In one chain of events, Shockwave would quickly get back on his feet, and fight against Decepticons from the future whose apparent successes against him in the present and the future would make Shockwave lose his mind. Together, they conceived of the Club Con plot, but a battle with Fortress Maximus in space sent Shockwave plunging through the atmosphere. He would soon collude with Decepticon fuel auditor Ratbat, who was leading the Decepticons on Cybertron. With his rival completely out of the way, Shockwave took up leadership again. However, when Optimus Prime seemingly died, Megatron lost his sanity and, with some help from Shockwave, apparently killed himself in a space bridge explosion.
